Academic Work
In 2006, I founded the ICT Accessibility Lab at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW), a national and international competence center for digital accessibility, which I built up and led for over 20 years. In this role, I was appointed Full Professor. During this time, I was responsible for numerous research projects funded by organizations including the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), Innosuisse, swissuniversities, and various other foundations.
The results of my research have been published in numerous scientific publications and cited more than 1,000 times.

Private Sector Work
Before my academic career, I worked for several years as a Senior Software Engineer in the private sector. I later headed the Center of Accessibility at a major bank in Zurich. There, I carried out pioneering work in accessibility — including the introduction of the first “talking” ATMs for visually impaired people in Switzerland.
Awards
For my pioneering work and innovation in accessibility, I received various awards, including the «UNESCO Prize for Digital Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities» and the «Henry Viscardi Achievement Award».
